MEET THE CREW

Rebecca Sansone, Owner + Product Curator

Bringing a passion for unique and vintage home decor (especially the pieces that garner an ‘is that a gum ball machine in the corner’ or ‘tell me the story of that piece’), Owner + Curator, Rebecca Sansone, is excited to bring Mustache Cat to Saint Paul. She believes in empowering people with pieces and guidance that add interest to their current style mix and bring new stories to their home, however big or small. 

When she’s not ‘picking’ for her 100+ year old home in Saint Paul or the shop inventory, Rebecca can be found soaking up the sunshine hiking or paddle boarding (also a favorite of her big dog, Duke), taking a Peloton ride or local yoga/dance classes, reading mysteries, or binge watching one of her favorite shows (list toppers: Golden Girls, Psych, and NY Yankees baseball).

Fun Fact* Though she’s lived in Saint Paul for most of the last 10 ish years, Rebecca has lived in Massachusetts, Georgia, and grew up in New Jersey - bringing lots of East Coast spirit to daily life.

Bernie, Namesake + Chief Napping Officer + Shop Cat

Having a business named after you is hard work (amiright?), which is likely why Bernie spends the bulk of his time snoozing, preferably in the sunshine. 

Named after Yankee baseball player, Bernie Williams, Bernie is a 5 year old tuxedo cat with a lot of personality.

When he’s not napping, Bernie can be found checking himself out in a nearby mirror, running from point A to B, playing with anything on a stick, watching the neighborhood birds/squirrels, or hanging with his dog brother, Duke.

Fun Fact* Bernie has a cat rescue named after him!  Bernie’s Buddies Cat Rescue in New Jersey was founded by Bernie’s foster Mom.

Abby, Idea Queen + Social Media Maven + Shop Girl

Meet Abby, The Mustache Cat’s first in-store employee! Abby has been a huge help around the shop, creating so many of the charming scenes around the shop, kicking up our social media game, and just being an overall delightful presence.

When she’s not loving on her cat family you can find her out appreciating all of the beautiful nature spots around the Twin Cities (usually with a local coffee in hand), thrifting and checking out other awesome woman-owned vintage shops and art festivals, and spending time with good friends who make family!

Originally from Wisconsin, our proud cheese-head first moved here for college and has stayed since after falling in love with the beautiful community and connecting with fellow Queer folks! Majoring in American studies and always committed to working towards caring for others and social justice, Abby is here with a big heart and a love for connecting with others.

Abby is always here for a good chat, whether that’s helping you design some fun areas of your home decor, having a good laugh, or connecting on whatever brings you to the shop that day!

Charlie, Maker-extraordinaire + Idea Catcher + Shop Girl

Meet Charlie! We knew Charlie would fit right in when she responded to our recent newsletter (saying we’re hiring) with a cat pun in the subject line.You’ll see Charlie’s friendly face at the shop and she’ll be working on nearly all aspects of the business behind the scenes.

Outside of The Mustache Cat, you can find Charlie listening to podcasts, reading mysteries, dancing around the living room to anything from Beyoncé to Linkin Park, and drinking copious amounts of coffee. She’s a lover of style, sustainability, and connection - with over 10 years of customer service/retail experience, she chose to dive back into school and become an Electrician after considering how she could give back to her community.

Chat with her anytime about: her two kitties (Jane + Blue), spirituality, art, perfecting homemade spaghetti sauce with vegetables from her garden, or her time as a former queen of Ladysmith, WI.
