Approachable + Fun Holiday Entertaining
We had such a great time with @minnesotalivetv talking tips for making holiday entertaining feel a little more approachable + fun. Here are some highlights of our tips with full clip at the bottom:
1οΈβ£ Keep It Simple
πΈ If youβre known for a certain dish or drink, start there and serve it in/on something special
π Find ways to minimize the other stuff - ask for friends to bring potluck, pre-make casseroles or cocktails. We LOVE a cocktail kit for these from our local partner @adornwellcocktails or utilize simple garnishes (dried fruit garnishes, cranberries, rosemary sprigs are great for this time of year)!
2οΈβ£ Use the heirlooms
𧑠Donβt be afraid to use the pieces that have sentimental value - they are so much better when appreciated by you and your crew. Itβs a nice way to remember traditions or loved ones this time of year
3οΈβ£ Add a little personality
π§We love to have a little fun with the small stuff - cocktail napkins, coasters, or salt and pepper shakers can be great ways to showcase your personality at your gathering
π² Do you have a competitive or fun-loving crew? Introduce a new game - we love these conversation starter games as a way to have a little fun and incite great dialogue
4οΈβ£ Use the 5 senses
π Of course youβre thinking about the decor and the tasty food, but add some consideration for your other scents. Unscented candles like these stix + stax from @warwickrow or tabletop fireplaces can be a great way to get all the ambiance without messing with the vibe. Use your favorite scents for areas away from food - where you welcome guests or a lounge area
π Craft or find a playlist that aligns with your event. Try instrumentals to keep the conversation flowing or sing-a-longs for a great dance party
