Community > Clicks

From clicks and discounts to community and value - my mindset has shifted a bit from Cyber 5 to a true holiday season that kicks off with Small Business Saturday and runs right up to December 24.

I was reminded of this recently when a friend (still in e-commerce retail where I worked prior to owning The Mustache Cat) said “well, you just have to make it through Cyber Monday and then you can relax, right?!”

I responded “it’s not quite the same in my world now” 🙃

A few years ago, we hustled to prep for Cyber 5 by offering the best deals (read: discounts) from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday. We spent the holiday weekend reviewing reports on clicks, traffic, and conversion, making adjustments even in the wee hours of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Once we made it through Cyber Monday we breathed a sigh of relief as the big rush was over.

Fast forward to today, I’m definitely still thinking about some of the same things - making my offer jazzy/exciting and driving traffic.  Just instead of clicks/conversion, I’m more focused on the overall experience that includes:

🎁 Getting creative about gift giving with options like gifting appointments or gift matchmaking

🆕 Launching new ways to shop online + custom products like our signature cocktail kit and vintage postcard notebooks

🗓 Offering events to share our amazing makers with this community like local artist popups and vintage vessel candle making classes

👏 Arguably most important, showing appreciation for our customers + community that choose us

Your support of this dream means the world to us - we can’t wait to see + celebrate together this holiday season 🧡
